What we measure · Included in the Compass Assessment

VO₂ max testing in Scottsdale, measured directly and read in context.

Paragon measures VO₂ max directly, breath by breath, on a graded treadmill test in Scottsdale. It’s not a wearable estimate, and Taylor Cushman, MD, MSc reads it with the rest of your results.

01 · What the test involves

A graded effort, breath by breath.

Prepare

We review your history and send instructions. Wear training clothes and raise any exercise concerns with your clinician.

Test

The VO2 Master analyzer measures oxygen use breath by breath as effort rises, adapted to your history and ability.

Read

Your physician reads it with your labs, body composition and goals and sets training targets in your Blueprint.

02 · What the number means

Fitness you can measure, and a plan that moves it.

VO₂ max is the highest rate your body can take in and use oxygen during exercise. Your Blueprint sets training targets from it; members repeat the test at later evaluations.

03 · Where it fits

One test inside one assessment.

Blood work first, then the testing day. Your Blueprint follows, typically three to six weeks after your blood draw.

Do I need to be fit to take the test?

Can I get the test on its own?

No. VO₂ max testing is part of the Compass Assessment, read with your lab and body-composition results.
