The Compass Assessment
The whole picture of your health, measured. One physician-authored plan built from it.
Most medical care answers one question at a time. The Compass Assessment is built to answer the whole set at once: a detailed measurement of how your body is working now, read together by a physician, and returned to you as one connected plan.
The fee, stated plainly
$3,250
Paid at booking. It stands on its own, and there is no obligation past it. Not billed to insurance.
The credit
100%
Join a membership within three months and the full $3,250 applies toward it; the assessment is covered. If you don’t, the Blueprint is yours regardless.
A short conversation with a clinician first, so the day is about you. No commitment past the conversation.
What we measure, and why it matters
01 · Labs
80+ biomarkers across 12 body systems
Hematologic through renal, read together rather than one flag at a time. Includes the markers most annual physicals skip: ApoB and Lp(a), the cardiovascular risk drivers; hsCRP, the inflammation cholesterol won’t show; fasting insulin, where early metabolic change appears before diabetes does.
02 · Aerobic capacity
VO₂ max, measured directly
The VO2 Master analyzer measures your aerobic capacity from every breath during a treadmill protocol, rather than estimating it from a wrist. How fit are you, and is it changing? Now there’s a number you can re-test.
03 · Body composition
Styku 3D body composition
Fat, muscle, and distribution, scanned and tracked over time. What’s your body made of?
04 · Strength and power
Force-plate testing
VALD ForceDecks give neuromuscular testing few practices have. How strong and stable are you, measurably?
05 · Metabolism
Resting metabolic rate
Your metabolism measured by indirect calorimetry rather than estimated by a formula. How does your metabolism run at rest?
06 · The physician review
Your Blueprint
Dr. Taylor Cushman, MD, MSc, board-certified in Internal Medicine, reviews the full pattern with you in person or by video. Within three to six weeks you receive the Paragon Blueprint: a living plan that connects the findings and lays out what to work on, in what order, and how we’ll re-measure it.
Bring what you already have. Prior labs, a Prenuvo scan, your watch’s export: Compass integrates all of it into one plan instead of adding another folder to the pile.
What the Blueprint looks like
Three pages from a complete sample Blueprint, built for a fictional member so you can see the format before you book: the score, one marker tracked over time, and the action plan that follows from them.
Sample Blueprint · synthetic member
01 · The score
Tom, 61
Paragon Health Score, 0 to 100
Sample Blueprint · synthetic member
02 · Tracked over time
Fasting insulin
Three draws across four years, µIU/mL
Sample Blueprint · synthetic member
03 · The action plan
What to work on, in what order
“Take the inherited risk seriously, reverse the insulin resistance that connects the rest, then rebuild the sleep and structure that recovery depends on.”
Goal 1 · 12 weeks
Cardiovascular risk
- Lipid-lowering discussion with Dr. Cushman
- Home blood-pressure log: two readings each morning for two weeks
- Mediterranean-pattern eating template
- Recheck at 12 weeks
Goal 2
Insulin resistance
One mechanism drives all three numbers: the liver drift and the blood pressure ride the same insulin resistance. Reverse it and Goal 1 gets easier.
Four questions, then every page of the sample opens. Or hear Dr. Cushman explain the Paragon model of care (3 min).
How it runs
Apply and talk
A short application, then a conversation with a clinician about your situation and whether this makes sense for you. If it doesn’t, we’ll say so.
Measurement
Blood work first, then a testing day in our Scottsdale office: VO₂ max, resting metabolic rate, 3D body composition, and force-plate testing.
The review
Your clinician walks the full picture with you, in person or by video.
Your Blueprint
Delivered within three to six weeks of your assessment, and it stays useful whether or not you ever join a membership.
Who it serves best
A fit
- Tired of reactive, fifteen-minute medicine
- A demanding career or serious training, with real health questions underneath
- Already investing in your health and want clinical depth behind the effort
- Want one physician reading everything you own, not one more report
Not a fit
- Looking for a quick fix
- Looking for a supplement stack
- Looking for the cheapest possible labs
- Not ready to act on what the numbers say
We would rather say so here than after you have paid us.
Questions people ask
- “I already have a doctor.”
- Good. Keep them. Compass measures what a standard physical skips and gives you and your doctor one integrated picture to work from.
- “What if it finds something serious?”
- That’s part of the point. Comprehensive assessment exists to find what isn’t yet symptomatic, and our Collective Care Model coordinates next steps whether or not you join anything.
- “I feel fine. Why would I do this?”
- The markers that matter most, like Lp(a) and fasting insulin, move before symptoms do. Feeling fine is worth verifying.
A short application, then a scheduled conversation with a clinician. No commitment past the conversation.
